THANKS FOR READING!

CHECK OUT ANOTHER PROJECT OF MINE:

My Experience with Twilio

I signed up for a free Twilio account, which provided me with $15.50 of free credit to experiment with the product.

For $1/month, I hosted a phone number from which I can send/receive calls/texts by using the programming language of my choosing β€” I prefer Python.

I used API Explorer (Beta) to test the servers. This dashboard seems to be built using FastAPI, which by default, shows how to ping the API by "curl"ing in the terminal.

I clicked the "curl" dropdown in the upper-right corner, and Python is an option, but it didn't have any documentation. That's a bug I'd love to solve. πŸ™‚

Instead, I used the built-in "Make A Request!" feature, and added the following parameters to send a message to my cell phone!

  • Format β€” JSON
  • AccountSID β€” Twilio Account ID
  • To β€” my cell number
  • Body (Message) β€” 'testing'
  • Force Delivery β€” True
  • Content Retention β€” Retain
  • Address Retention β€” Retain
